CampGlow was born out of the shared passion for camping and adventure of our founder, Irving, and his close-knit group of friends. As avid campers, they spent years exploring the outdoors, from sleeping under the stars in traditional ground tents to experimenting with rooftop tents. Through these experiences, they encountered a series of frustrations and challenges that sparked a desire to make camping easier and more enjoyable for everyone.
One of the biggest problems they faced was the poor quality of camping gear available, especially when it came to affordable camping lights. Cheap lights often used outdated micro USB ports or failed to provide essential features, like a clear battery indicator. Another challenge was the limitations of traditional ground tents, particularly in certain parts of the United States. In areas with sandy soil, animal activity, or rocky terrain, these tents proved difficult to use, leaving campers exposed to the elements or at risk of damage. It was through their trials with rooftop tents that Irving and his team realized a better way forward — a way to create camping conditions that were safer, more convenient, and far more enjoyable.
